Charming Scottish Digs - Isle of Skye

Near the end of our trip to Scotland last month we stayed at the Hotel Eilean Iarmain on the Isle of Skye - a wonderful retreat with gracious accommodations and an outstanding restaurant. Here's one of the sitting rooms with it's slightly pickled pine paneling and comfy seating.

In the light filled main dining area of their top notch restaurant, the panels are inset with grasscloth.  Really like this idea!

We had an incredible breakfast at the table in the foreground of this picture.  I'm now a huge fan of smoked salmon topped with scrambled eggs.  It was superb.

The green in the entry reminds me of Farrow & Ball's Calke Green.

A staff member said this bird has been here for at least 50 years.  He met his demise when he flew into an electrical telephone wire.

We stayed in one of the two floor guest suites - this was ours, #4,  at the end.  The building was originally a stable from 1871.

The view from the side window.

Out the front - we were treated to a glorious Red Sunset.

If you're ever headed to the Isle of Skye, I would highly recommend Hotel Eileen Iarmain for both it's hotel and restaurant (and it's whisky store - it's the home of Praban na Linne, producers of some seriously good Gaelic Whisky).  I couldn't imagine you'd be anything but pleased.

(This is my personal opinion and I receive no form of renumeration or benefit for it)
